Creating and Directing Your Own Videos: From Script Development to Promotion

If you want to create your own videos like a pro, let us show you how! Learn about directing, writing, editing, photography, sound techniques, and promotion. You’ll also gain knowledge about the methods and software necessary to complete the creation and distribution of a video.

The new educational workshop is aimed at young people between 15 and 18 years old. It covers theoretical background in directing, all phases of the production process, and practical tips on publishing and promoting a video on social media.

The two-day workshop, introduced by director Paschalis Mantis, takes place in the specially designed YouTube Room at the JOIST Innovation Park. This professional, multi-purpose video production studio can meet all creative needs, as it comes equipped with all the necessary equipment.

On the first day, the participants will be introduced to filmmaking, the basic terms and concepts used, and the steps involved in creating a script or idea and sharing it on social media. The first day ends with the basic knowledge required for video creation, as well as photography and audio techniques.

On the second day of the workshop, the steps involved in video preparation and production are analyzed, followed by post-production and budget management. How do we edit the filmed scenes? How do we share the video on various platforms such as YouTube? How do we present it to the audience? And extra valuable tips on how to promote it!

The workshop provides participants with proper and professional foundations in the specific art, allowing them to unleash their creativity and potentially even pursue a successful career.
