DESCRIPTION

A thought, a word, a picture
feels the caress of the air eternally.
He speaks, sings with the rustle
Dancing to the rhythm of the winds
but it stands firm forever…

BRAGGART contemporary art gallery presents a Visual Arts Installation at JOIST Innovation Park, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Eleven women contemporary artists, each is creating her own dress. They are inspired by femicide, anonymous or nameless, by placing their artwork on the dress/body of these women who have suffered, been raped, or lost, as a tribute.
Painting, collage, weaving, mixed media, audiovisual media, texts, and different materials are chosen by each artist and applied to the dresses that will be presented and will frame a table set for the dinner of these women.

At the same time, there will be a video projection and poetry recitation with music. The singer, composer, songwriter, lyricist and poet NOMIK will be interacting throughout the Art Installation. He was born and raised in Thessaloniki. In 2017 he released his first solo English-language album dedicated to women entitled “I ain’t gonna be a king”, as well as his first bilingual poetry collection entitled “The Return of Succession”.

The art installation HERE HEAR ME is a commentary on the work “The Dinner Party” by the American feminist artist Judy Chicago (1974/1979), with which the artist wanted to honour women.
