DESCRIPTION

The seminar entitled “Innovative Technologies in Construction: Durability, Safety, and Adaptation to Modern Challenges” will focus on new technologies and innovations that enhance the sustainability, safety, and quality of construction. In a world where extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and intense, construction must adapt to these new challenges. Internet of Things (IoT) sensors play an important role in monitoring buildings in real-time, giving early warnings of dangerous changes in the environment, such as vibrations or humidity, preventing damage and destruction.

Sophisticated building materials, such as modified multifunctional concrete, offer new possibilities for greater durability and reduced maintenance needs. The workshop will highlight the contribution of these materials in protecting structures from the effects of climate change, such as floods and earthquakes. At the same time, non-destructive testing methods such as ultrasound, infrared thermography, geosurveys, etc., as well as imaging with LiDAR and photogrammetry technologies, both ground-based and using unmanned aerial vehicles (Drones), allow for accurate inspection of structures without causing damage, facilitating timely maintenance and improvement of infrastructure.

Building Information Modeling (BIM) will be analyzed as a tool that improves coordination and accuracy in the design and implementation of construction projects, increasing efficiency and reducing errors.

Finally, techniques for moving entire structures and antiquities will be presented, an innovation that allows the protection of historic buildings from natural disasters or their relocation to complete new projects.

Overall, the conference aims to present the latest developments in the construction sector, promoting solutions that respond to today’s needs and challenges.

The event is addressed to:

  • Construction companies
  • In the engineering sector
  • In the technical sector and engineering bodies
  • Innovators
