THE AIM

JOIST Platform project aims to develop an integrated phygital (physical + digital) environment that facilitates networking and collaboration among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), startups, research institutions, and investors.

The platform is designed to provide a core set of functions and tools to:

  • enhance the participation of enterprises in innovation ecosystems,
  • improve access to training and networking resources, as well as to commercial visibility and collaboration opportunities.

The project leverages selected digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Business Intelligence, with the goal of gradually integrating users into a dynamic and interoperable digital space.

The project is implemented under the “Development of Digital Products and Services” program of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES

The project is structured into three phases (activities), encompassing key technical, operational, and strategic actions:

Phase 1: Preparation & Design

  • A feasibility study and market research were conducted to identify user needs and document best practices.
  • The platform’s system architecture was designed based on a microservices model, ensuring flexibility and scalability.
  • Selection of key supporting technologies, including Power BI, OfficeRnD, EUcalls, and Stripe.
  • Definition of access policies and data security protocols, ensuring full GDPR compliance.

Phase 2: Digital Platform Development

The platform’s core portal was developed, along with four functional modules:

  • Community: A space for community interaction, event planning, and room bookings.
  • Marketplace: A digital environment for showcasing and discovering innovative products and solutions.
  • Innovation Management: Tools to assess digital maturity and visualize performance through strategic dashboards.
  • TechWatch: A module for monitoring technological trends using AI-powered prompts.

The platform provides personalized user experience, with role-based configuration and tailored access depending on the specific needs of each user or organization.

Phase 3: Pilot Operation & Commercial Exploitation

  • Launch of pilot and commercial operations with three subscription packages: Digital, Hybrid, and Resident.
  • Activation of support services such as community management and innovation mentoring.
  • Implementation of marketing campaigns, user onboarding, and development of strategic partnerships.
  • Continuous monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs) and iterative platform updates based on user feedback and evolving needs

The project contributes significantly to the digital transformation of SMEs, enhancing their competitiveness and creating new growth opportunities at both local and national level. At the same time, it integrates ESG practices, with a focus on service accessibility, efficient resource use, and social inclusion.
