The event “Wine & Chat: Women Entrepreneurship & Growth Opportunities” was successfully held yesterday, Thursday, April 27, at the JOIST Innovation Park in Larissa.

The event was dedicated to women entrepreneurs, the challenges and opportunities facing women today, and provided a fertile ground for connecting and networking women entrepreneurs and professionals from various sectors.

Five women who are successfully developing their professional careers shared their own experiences at JOIST’s AGORA Amphitheatre.

Olga Tsiourva, Regional Director of the Public Employment Service of Thessaly, presented statistics on female representation in senior management positions and stressed the Organisation’s effort to offer programmes focused on female entrepreneurship.

Chrysa Patsa, Owner of ITBIZ Digital Agency, Electrical & Computer Engineer, MBA, underlined how prejudices, racial and social stereotypes slow down and entrap women and paid particular attention to the quality of their work, which is the best proof of their skills and value.

Danae Dimitrakopoulou, President of the Journalistic Organization Eleftheria, focused on gender equality in Greece and the stereotypes, the questioning that a young woman suffers within her professional environment and the constant and greater effort she has to make to achieve what she deserves.

Then, Eleni Karvouni, Director of the Pediatric Surgery Department of the General Hospital of Larissa, spoke about the “multitasking” everyday life of women and their innate ability to develop new skills to face every condition and obstacle that comes their way, stressing that they must do what they love and fight for their dreams.

Alina Kazantzis, Owner of Tsarina Boutique and Founder of the brand “A piece of me”, spoke about the steps a woman must follow to realize her business idea and the value of patience and perseverance throughout her development.

At the end of the event, the participants had the opportunity to meet and discuss issues that concern them, accompanied by wine and finger food. Sponsors of the event were the Sakis Minas Estate and PES ALEYRI bakeries.

“Wine & Chat” was organized for the first time by JOIST Innovation Park and is expected to be repeated at regular intervals, becoming a constant “rendezvous” of the city’s women entrepreneurs.
