The architect of JOIST has run out of ideas and is looking for assistants. Can you help him design and print original 3D objects to complete his project?
In JOIST’s new educational workshop, children from 9 to 14 years old learn the technology of 3D design and 3D printing as members of the working team of an actual hands-on adult project and put their own touch on Greece’s largest Innovation Park. Instructors guide children in the use of the 3D design software Autodesk Tinkercad, discovering the full range of its capabilities so they can experiment with it at home.
Then they become familiar with 3D printers and learn how to export their files to bring their designs to life. Children will design their own 3D objects that will decorate JOIST and will be used daily by its visitors, while:
This workshop will instil in children a love for school lessons. How? They understand better the sciences, such as geometry and mathematics, and are therefore motivated to study their subjects with greater interest.
At the end of the educational program, the children’s drawings will be 3D printed and placed in JOIST for actual use.
