Join us to design together in the brand new, interactive, and creative SketchUp Party Architecture Workshop for children in 4th to 6th grade! We expect you to explore the world of SketchUp together and create our own 3D spaces.
Children’s relationship with technology is unique and special, allowing us to discover new ways of learning. Games on online platforms, such as Minecraft, can familiarise children with 3D space and encourage them to create
In our new programme, we want to encourage children to explore the creative use of technology to experiment with computational tools that promote the creation of 3D spaces.
In our workshop, children will be introduced to, learn about and use the digital tool SketchUp to experiment with 3D electronic space. Initially, the basic tools of SketchUp will be introduced and gradually the children will become familiar with designing in 3D space. They will then be given a model of a spatial landscape with structures and buildings that they can explore and even modify. At the same time, they will begin to design small spatial constructions, with an increasing degree of difficulty, which they can add to the relief of the landscape and navigate through it.
The programme was designed and implemented by Ms Maria Konstantoglou, an architectural engineer with postgraduate and doctoral studies in Greece (Aristotle University, University of Thessaly) and England (University of Cambridge). After many years of working experience in America as a researcher in environmental design at Lawrence Berkeley Lab and architect at SOM, she maintains her own architectural office in Larissa, where she undertakes renovations and new building projects. Her involvement with architecture for children started with her daughters and is related to construction and 3D models.
Don’t miss it! Come and spend a creative Saturday with us!
