At JOIST Innovation Park, we are committed to showcasing the evolution of technology and innovation through a series of exhibitions highlighting their history. From October 2024 to August 2025, we will host the fourth and final part of the modular exhibition “From the Wheel to Artificial Intelligence”. As part of this exhibition, we invite the public to contribute by offering their old devices, which will be the main exhibits in this historical journey of technology.
Bring Your Old Technological Devices – Be Part of the History of Innovation
This exhibition is not just a presentation of technological development from 1940 to the present day. It is a participatory exhibition that brings history to life through real objects and experiences. To make it truly special, we need the public’s help.
We are looking for old devices, such as landline and mobile phones, computers, faxes, floppy disks, game consoles, radios, cassette players, pick-ups, discman, walkman and any other technological device that you no longer use.
Now considered useless and obsolete, these devices were once symbols of innovation. Now, they can find their place in the JOIST showroom, allowing visitors to understand the evolution of technology and how it has affected our lives. In this way, participants are not just spectators of the exhibition but become part of the history of technology themselves.
The Modular Technology Exhibition at JOIST
This exhibition is the fourth in a series of modular exhibitions entitled “From the Wheel to Artificial Intelligence: a Brief History of Innovation”, which started two years ago. Each part of this series focuses on different periods and technologies, exploring the concept of innovation and how it has shaped the world as we know it today.
For those who have not had the opportunity to visit the previous parts of the exhibition, find more information below:
- Part I – Wheel and Gear
- Part II – Byzantium, Medieval West, Renaissance
- Part III – Rococo, 1st 2nd Industrial Revolution
How You Can Participate
If you have old devices that you no longer use, we invite you to bring them to JOIST. Items donated will be marked in order to be returned after the end of the exhibition. In case you no longer need them, the JOIST team can take care of their recycling.
The items must be delivered by 20/09/2024.
For more information, you can contact Ms. Sophia Kouliouba, at 2410 234422.
We invite you to participate in this unique experience and contribute to the creation of an unforgettable exhibition. Innovation is something that concerns us all, and bringing its history to life is not possible without your contribution.
