VELES aims to foster an environment where smart health innovations thrive, creating excellent innovation ecosystems within the participating countries. Aligned with the Regional Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation (RIS3) in healthcare, VELES leverages cutting-edge technologies such as Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) to enable personalized medicine, informed decision-making, and enhanced disease prediction.
This activity sets the ground by analyzing 4 ecosystems in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece and Romania, by elaborating a guideline for transition towards Smart Health Regional ecosystem and transformational framework of change towards Smart Health data driven innovations and by validating these through a series of 3Ds framework exercises.
This activity sets up the ecosystem, infrastructural, legal, ethical and business conditions for establishing the cross border the RSHDS and its integration within the EU Health Data Space.
This activity validates the Data Space methodological framework of WP3 through the conceptualization, design, planning and feasibility assessment of 4 relevant pilots targeted at highly challenging topics such as mental health and cancer.
Includes several accompanying measures for targeted education and entrepreneurial skills development, cross-country research/industry PhDs, know-how transfer through staff exchanges and other collaborative means, facilitated access to funding to researchers, businesses and authorities and synergies with leading EU initiatives.
Focuses on ensuring effective exploitation of VELES outcomes and long-term self-sustainability of the 4 place-based innovation ecosystems.
